Dual Lock™

Dual Lock™ systems for reclosable fastening of various materials replace unsightly and troublesome mechanical parts like screws, rivets, seams, etc.

These are used when it's necessary to open and close parts, when adhesive or a tape cannot be used and when mechanical fastening components (screws, nuts or  seams) should not be visible, e.g., on the internal lining of trains, airplanes, buses, elevators, service shafts, false ceilings and others.

The two sides of the Dual Lock™ self-adhesive reclosable fastener press against each other and hundreds of mushroom shaped tops mesh together. 
An audible click tells you that the bond is 100%.You can open and close them a thousand times.

 

Using 3M™ self-adhesive reclosable fasteners bonded to the substrate with a thick acrylic or rubber layer means:

• no boreholes, undamaged material structure
• no troubles with setting
• no visible tops or nuts of fasteners

Dual Lock™ SJ-4570 Reclosable Fastener

The Dual Lock™ SJ-4570 is a new type 
of a reclosable fastener with a low profile 
designed for light-weight applications.

It is a result of continuous innovation and an effort 
to provide new application possibilities. SJ-4570  is made of 
clear polypropylene and works on the same principle
as normal Dual Lock™.

Dual Lock™SJ 4570 properties:

• very low profile:
  (thickness after closing = 1.7 mm)
• low weight: 
  (0.31 g with dimensions of 25 mm x 25 mm)
• high shear and tensile strength,  higher than 
  Scotchmate™ (Hook’n’Loop) products
• lower number of cycles: (50–100 closings)
  backing 0.13 mm with 300LSE adhesive.
