Other Tapes

Scotchrap™ 50

A black corrosion protection tape. The adhesive contains corrosion inhibitors which neutralize any existing corrosion pockets. Resistant to salt water, all kinds of weather, acids and alkalis. The tape is very strong, resists puncture and impact and protects pipes or distribution nets directly in the ground.

Usage:

  • corrosion protection
  • mechanical protection.

Scotch® 45bk

A black glass filament of polyester tape reinforced lengthwise. It has high adhesion strength, UV resistance and outstanding tensile strength. Resists the weather and can be used for both outdoor and indoor applications. The tensile strength of the tape is considerably higher than that of tightening strings and is also suitable for bundling single core cables exposed to short-circuit currents for dynamic forces.

Usage:

  • bundling cables
  • fixing and hanging.

Scotch® 9545

An impregnated colored viscose fabric adhesive tape with high tensile strength. Easy to write on with a permanent marker or a ball-point pen. High tack, weather and mildew resistance.  Suitable also for tropicalized equipment. Colors of the tape are stable, resistant to UV exposure.

Usage:

  • marking
  • bundling and color coding.

Scotchflex™ (Hook & Loop)

An easily flexible, thin tying tape based on the principle of reclosable fasteners.  It is designed for easy and fast tying and fixing of cables of any length. It resists high mechanical tension like a reclosable fastener and can similarly be unwound and used many times.  Very thin. Can be used both for outdoor and indoor applications.

Usage:

  • for bundling and fixing of lead wires and cables
  • for distributions of optical fibers
  • for fixing electrical and electronic parts, but also for mechanical fixing of, e.g., things in the trunk, of skis etc.

Armorcast™

A wide strip of synthetic material, saturated with one-component resin. It is supplied vacuum-packed together with protective gloves. The resin cures fast in contact with water and air. When applied to the cable, it provides a mechanical protection with armor-like durability. At the place of application, it also enhances cable resistance against fire.  It is necessary to use electrically insulating and sealing layers (e.g. Scotch® 23 and Scotch® Super 33+) under Armorcast.

Usage:

  • protection of cables against mechanical damage
  • reconstructions of sheathing in splices.

Replaces a splice cast iron form.  Creates a sheathing for a splice of any diameter and length (straight and arced). Provides insulation and mechanical protection of a trolley at trolley crossings (can stand many trolley collector impacts when it falls out of the trolley).
